Key Road Safety Initiatives of CG RSA FLASH GATE
CG RSA FLASH GATE is committed to implementing a comprehensive range of road safety initiatives throughout the year, despite facing funding constraints since our inception in 2018. Our activations and programmes are informed by the unique challenges and needs of each season, ensuring that our efforts are targeted, effective, and responsive to the needs of all road users. Our key initiatives are driven by our flagship programme, DTRSA FLASH GATE, keeping road safety at the forefront of our efforts. We prioritize strategic partnerships with government entities, such as road safety-related agencies and transport stakeholders, as well as private sector entities, to advance road safety and create a safer transportation environment for all.
Our Collaborations and Partnerships: Hosting Road Safety Initiatives with the Department of Transport, Stakeholders, and Private Sector Entities
We prioritize collaborations with government entities, such as the Department of Transport, and strategic partnerships with private sector entities to advance road safety. Key initiatives include:
• Collaborations to promote road safety awareness and education, targeting high-risk road user groups
• Partnerships with private sector companies, particularly those in the transportation, automotive, logistics, and liquor industries, to promote road safety best practices and reduce their contribution to road crashes and fatalities
• Encouraging responsible practices among transportation operators, vehicle manufacturers, and liquor producers to mitigate the risks associated with drinking and driving, speeding, and other hazardous behaviours
• Targeted strategic proactive road safety education, awareness, and advocacy initiatives during high-risk travelling seasons, such as festive seasons, through our adaptive approach of active prevention and reactive response
CG RSA FLASH GATE Seasonal Adaptive Road Safety Initiatives for High-Risk Travelling Seasons
CG RSA FLASH GATE is committed to promoting road safety throughout the year, implementing various initiatives to reduce road crashes and fatalities. However, we intensify our efforts during high-risk travel seasons, recognizing the increased vulnerability of road users during these periods.
High-risk travel seasons, including festive seasons, Christmas and New Year’s holidays, Easter holidays, public holidays, back to school periods, and back to work periods after holidays, pose significant challenges to road safety. These periods are characterized by high volumes of traffic, increased travel distances, and altered driving patterns, ultimately leading to a higher risk of road crashes and fatalities.
Our seasonal adaptive road safety initiatives are designed to address the unique challenges posed by these high-risk travel seasons, ensuring that our efforts are targeted, effective, and responsive to the needs of all road users.
Our Key Road Safety Initiatives Include:
• Festive Season Road Safety Initiatives: Targeted proactive road safety education, awareness, and advocacy initiatives during peak holiday seasons, focusing on transport hubs like garages, beaches, and shopping centres. Our festive season road safety initiatives are driven by our City-to-City Meet & Greet Wishing Travellers Safe Journey (CTC-MGTSWJ) National – Impact Road Safety Campaign: Partnering with the Department of Transport, garage-fuel stations, local municipalities, and authorities to conduct road safety campaigns across cities.
• Public Holiday Safety: Focused on promoting road safety practices during public holidays and festival events, with road safety advocacy initiatives.
• Community Engaged Road Safety Programs: Workshops and road shows targeting churches and community centres, focusing on promoting road safety awareness and education among community members.
By intensifying our efforts during high-risk travel seasons, CG RSA FLASH GATE reaffirms its commitment to reducing road crashes and fatalities, and promoting a culture of road safety awareness throughout the year.
