Year Round Road Initiatives For High Risk Travelling Periods:
Through our year-round road safety initiatives, we intensify our efforts during high-risk traveling periods, such as the festive season, back to school and work periods, Easter holidays, back to school and work periods after Easter, long weekends, and public holidays. We aim to reduce road crashes and fatalities. Our community-based programs focus on promoting road safety awareness, fostering shared responsibility, and driving positive change.
The High Risk Travelling Periods Strategy:
These high-risk traveling periods pose a significant challenge to road safety in South Africa, as they coincide with a substantial increase in road traffic volume. During peak travel periods, millions of people take to the roads, heading to various destinations for holidays, social gatherings, and other purposes. Unfortunately, this increased traffic volume, combined with factors such as driver fatigue, reckless driving, drank–driving, speeding, and vehicle unroadworthiness, contributes to a significant surge in road crashes and fatalities. As a result, CG RSA FLASH GATE intensifies its efforts during these periods, leveraging our expertise and resources to promote road safety awareness and education, and ultimately reduce the number of road crashes and fatalities in South Africa.
